Transition Program
The Transition Program Social Worker collaborates closely with classroom teachers, parents and students to develop comprehensive programs that lead to fulfilling post-graduate opportunities. During group sessions, students are encouraged to express their emotions, develop healthy relationships, handle stress, and prepare for the future. Students are nurtured and thoughtfully led through the difficult transition years with interactive group sessions, individualized support, and Grad Group outings. The Social Worker is available to students and parents to assist with meetings, behavioral support, and community resources.
Social Skills Training: Students learn a variety of social skills during group sessions then work towards generalizing the skills throughout the school program and home environment. Based on the student’s needs, he/she may receive specialized training in stranger safety and maintaining appropriate social boundaries.
