The school psychologist at the Gengras Center plays a vital role in supporting student success and well-being. A primary responsibility is conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to identify each student’s unique strengths and needs. These evaluations inform the development of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and guide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports. Evaluations may also provide valuable insights for families seeking services beyond the school setting.

The school psychologist collaborates and consults with related service providers, case managers, parents, and outside providers to further student progress toward their goals.

Beyond evaluations and consultation, the school psychologist contributes to a positive and supportive school climate by assisting with the implementation of the school-wide social-emotional learning program and leading staff and parent trainings.

School Psychologist

Our school psychologist has the great opportunity to work closely with students, teachers, related service providers and parents. I collaborate with teachers and our school social workers to support the social-emotional wellbeing of students. I collaborate with our BCBAs and school staff to help students learn the skills they need to be behaviorally successful in and outside of the classroom. I also use assessment data to provide school teams and parents with valuable information about student’s strengths and the learning strategies that fit their needs. I love seeing the growth and progress of students over time and being part of the teams that support them!
