Behavioral Services
We have an extensive team to focus on individual behavioral concerns as the need arises. Our teachers, social workers, school psychologist, behavioral interventionist, BCBAs, and administrators work together to help every student have as many opportunities as possible now and in the future.
If a behavior is going to limit a student’s ability to access certain settings, we create plans to address the concerns and widen the students’ options. When unsafe or disruptive behaviors are present, we follow a highly systematic approach to collecting and analyzing data to determine the function. Behavioral Intervention Plans are created to address the behaviors along with functional communication and social skills training. To round out our comprehensive team approach, we work closely with an outside behavioral consultant.
BCBAs
The BCBAs at Gengras are dedicated to helping the students advocate for their wants, needs, likes and dislikes. They help students gain skills across academic domains, life skills and social skills by using the science of applied behavior analysis.
School Psychologist
Our school psychologist has the great opportunity to work closely with students, teachers, related service providers and parents. I collaborate with teachers and our school social workers to support the social-emotional wellbeing of students. I collaborate with our BCBAs and school staff to help students learn the skills they need to be behaviorally successful in and outside of the classroom. I also use assessment data to provide school teams and parents with valuable information about student’s strengths and the learning strategies that fit their needs. I love seeing the growth and progress of students over time and being part of the teams that support them!
