The students of C-214 are working on academic skills which include math, reading, writing, and social studies. This semester in Social Studies the students are learning about the decades beginning with the 1950s until today Classroom learning approaches consist of whole group, small group, and individual lessons, real world applications, and the integration of technology including SMARTboards, computers, and iPads. Students engage in real world application of these skills in various settings on the university campus and on community outings, such as grocery shopping.
Students participate in classes that promote social skills, cooperation, independence, and life skills. Each week students work together to follow recipe and cook simple healthy snacks. Vocational opportunities for C-214 are diverse and range from working in the CARE building to working on the USJ campus.
