A-4: Ms. Aquillo
Welcome to A-4 at the Gengras Center! A-4 is a functional academic classroom that focuses on academics, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies through collaborative group work and individualized instruction. In A-4 we also focus on life skills and community based activities where students are able to work collaboratively with their peers and Gengras Staff to move forward towards independence and success. In A-4 we go on various community outings, where we are able to apply our knowledge we learned in the classroom to real world situations. Whether the students are engaged in math, reading or writing activities, we are working collaboratively with our peers and Gengras staff to move forward toward success!
Take a look at some of the community outings A-4 has been on:
• Big Y
• BeanZ Cafe
• Gifts of Love
• Elizabeth Park
In A-4 we use enriching activities such as our school store (G-Mart), coffee shop, a variety of technology, cooking and other creative instructional methods to enhance the classroom curriculum. We learn real life lessons, communication and social skills, functional academics, and vocational skills necessary to move through our high school years and better navigate the community as young adults.
