A-4: Ms. AquilloReading Time: 1 minute
Welcome to A-4! This year we have been focusing on functional academics including reading writing and math. In social studies we learned about US history, and focused on the decades, from 1950’s to current events. We explored various topics and participated in many exciting educational activities. Recently in science we have been learning about recycling and the solar system. As a class we are engaged in a variety of hands on activities and experiments to enhance our learning. On Friday’s we have Science Friday with C-214 and A-2 where we collaborate and do educational experiments to enhance what we are learning in the classroom and allow us to work on our social skills with other high school classes.
In A-4 we go on various field trips to the community, where we are able to apply our knowledge we learned in the classroom to real world situations. Whether the students are engaged in math, reading or writing activities, we are working collaboratively with our peers and Gengras staff to move forward toward success! We use enriching activities such as our school store (G-Mart), coffee shop, a variety of technology, cooking and other creative instructional methods to enhance the classroom curriculum. We learn real life lessons, communication and social skills, functional academics, and the vocational skills necessary to move through our high school years and better navigate the community as young adults.
