A-11: Mrs. Mitera
A-11’s goal is to work with students on increasing their independence in the most meaningful way in their individual lives. We focus on increasing our functional vocabulary while making real life connections for each student. Students have the opportunity to practice a variety of life skill in the classroom and the schools life skills lab. These activities include hygiene routines, laundry tasks, cleaning jobs and cooking simple recipes. Each week we go on a community outing that include both on campus and off campus trips. These trips often connect to our weekly words and allow students the opportunity to practice money skills, and authentic exchanges with people in the community. I look forward to watching the class grow this year!
