It is common for the Gengras Center to echo with the sound of music. It’s also common to see the look of joy and accomplishment of the faces of our young music makers. Music opens up new worlds for our students.
Every student at the Gengras Center is provided with music classes to stimulate their interests to respond, create or perform in their own way. Our music curriculum ranges from moving to music using scarves and parachutes to reading rhythms and performing songs on a variety of instruments. We use a great deal of technology in our music classes, including interactive activities on the SMART Board, music apps on the iPad, and accessible musical devices such as the SKOOG. Our goal at the Gengras Center is to create an environment for all students to experience and appreciate music.
