B-8: Ms. Loper

Our classroom allows students to practice age-appropriate social skills and activities of daily living and be challenged in academic learning. The students in B-8 work hard to generalize skills from the classroom to the community by participating in weekly outings to the grocery store. Each week, the class uses the food they shopped for to practice cooking skills and proper hygiene in order to cook two meals for families in need. During academic periods, students work one to one or in small groups that are targeted at their individualized educational learning goals. Our staff are always finding ways to make our school days full of authentic learning opportunities for each student to become more independent with daily routines, academic tasks, self-control, and social skills.
