Art at the Gengras Center comprises an entire palette of classes and activities that enable developmentally disabled students to express themselves in new and exciting ways. Included in that broad palette are techniques such as painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking, sensory-item artwork and more. We also teach art history.
All classes and activities are individually tailored to meet the needs and levels of each student, and are presented in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step manner using verbal and visual aids and hands-on demonstrations. A portfolio of each student’s work is produced and taken home at the end of each school year.
